Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 6/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Pattern
A strong high pressure system over the State will drift northwards over New
South Wales on Thursday as a cold front approaches from the Bight. The front
will move across southern Victoria late Friday.  A low pressure trough will form
west of the State on Friday and will approach western Victoria late Saturday.
Victoria
Tonight and Wednesday: Fine apart from isolated morning fog. Local early frosts
then a mild day. Another sunny day in the north, but patchy high cloud is likely
over southern districts. Light northerly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.
Thursday:  Fine apart from isolated morning fog in the east. Mild and partly
cloudy.
Friday:    Isolated showers developing in the south and northeast. Cool to mild.
Saturday:  Scattered showers on and south of the ranges, then in the west later.
Cool to mild.
Forecast for Melbourne
Tonight and Wednesday
Fine. A mostly sunny day with just some high cloud at times. Light northwesterly
winds and afternoon seabreezes.

Few showers mainly morning.                 Min 11    Max 17

Forecast for Port Phillip and Western Port
Tonight and Wednesday: Variable wind to 10 knots tonight. Northerly wind at 5 to
10 knots tomorrow. Waves less than half a metre.
Thursday:  Northwesterly winds at 10 to 15 knots.
Friday:    Northwesterly winds 10 to 15 knots tending south to southwesterly at
similar strength later.
Saturday:  East to southeasterly winds at around 10 knots.
Headline Melbourne: Fine. 
Headline Victoria:  Fine apart from local morning fog. Early frost then cool to
