Flood warnings are current for most rivers and creeks over southern Queensland. Refer to latest warnings for details. STATE FORECAST for the rest of Thursday and Friday Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northern and central areas of the state, contracting to the western half on Friday. Scattered showers over the east coast and ranges. Isolated afternoon showers about southeast inland parts, extending throughout on Friday. Moderate to fresh E to SE winds, becoming strong and gusty about the east coast and ranges. EXTENDED OUTLOOK Saturday.. A large, intense high will remain slow moving near Tasmania, maintaining strong to gale force winds over the east coast and ranges south of about Lockhart River. Scattered showers continuing over the exposed east coast, with more isolated activity over the eastern interior, mostly on and east of the ranges. Some moderate falls likely over the northeast tropical coast. Instability eases and contracts into western and far northern parts of the state as the ridge continues to build in the east, with showers and isolated thunderstorms over parts of western districts and through Cape York Peninsula.
