Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 8/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time:
Flood Warnings for the Orara, Paroo, Warrego and Darling Rivers.
For the latest warning information please check the Bureau's web site
www.bom.gov.au/weather/nsw
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A high over the eastern Tasman Sea extends a ridge along the New
South Wales coast, and is directing a humid easterly airstream across
New South Wales. This stabilising effect of this ridge should see
coastal areas experiencing less shower activity over the next day or
two, however a lingering trough over the state's west is expected to
maintain unsettled conditions through many inland districts. There
are indications that this trough will strengthen and move eastward at
the end of the week as it becomes reinforced by a front from the
Southern Ocean, leading to an increased potential for significant
rainfall in some areas.
Forecast for Tuesday evening
Showers and isolated thunderstorms over the western inland and the
southern ranges. Isolated showers about the central and northern
coasts and adjacent ranges, tending scattered in the north. Fine
elsewhere. East to northeast winds.
Forecast for Wednesday
Isolated showers along the far north coast. Isolated afternoon
showers and thunderstorms in the southeast and over parts of the
inland. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.
Forecast for Thursday
Isolated showers on the far north coast. Isolated showers and
thunderstorms in the southern and central inland. Mostly fine
elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds.
Forecast for Friday
Rain areas or scattered showers in the south and far west with
isolated thunderstorms. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms
most remaining districts but fine on the north coast. Northwest winds
inland tending northeast along the coast. Southerly change on the
south coast later.
Forecast for Saturday
Rain areas and isolated thunderstorms in the south and west. Isolated
showers and possible thunderstorms remainder. Chiefly southeast to
northeast winds.
