USDA National Grain ReviewST. JOSEPH - Jan 29/10 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Jan 29. WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW Compared to last week, grain and soybean bids were mostly lower. The grain markets saw strong outside market pressure on Wednesday as crude oil and the stock market were lower, along with a sharply higher dollar. However, grains closed the margin late in the week as commodities all traded higher on the day with slight to modest gains. Wheat was in the green on good export sales and fund buying despite a higher dollar on the day. Wheat had strong export sales of 660,700 tonnes for current year and 28,500 tonnes for next year. Corn saw fund buying and light farmer selling. Corn had good export sales of 902,300 tonnes all for the current year. Soybean export sales were in line with expectations at 673,500 tonnes for current year and 183,600 tonnes for next year. Wheat was mix 8 cents lower to 1.01 higher. Yellow Corn was mostly 4-10 cents lower. Sorghum was 18-24 cents lower. Soybeans were 14-22 cents lower. WHEAT: Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 2 3/4 to 5 3/4 cents lower from 4.68 3/4-5.41 3/4 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red Winter rail bid was 8 3/4 cents lower from 4.39 3/4-5.34 3/4 per bushel. St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter terminal bid was 4 cents lower at 3.97 per bushel. Minneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 31 1/4 cents to 1.01 1/4 higher from 7.08 1/2-7.78 1/2 per bushel. Portland US Soft White wheat rail was 10 cents higher from 4.70-4.90 per bushel. CORN: Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 1 cent lower to 2 cents higher from 3.80-3.84 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 6 to 7 cents lower from 3.41-3.45 per bushel. Omaha US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 6 to 7 cents lower from 3.39-3.43 per bushel. Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 4 1/4 cents lower to 8 3/4 cents higher from 3.35 3/4-3.59 3/4 per bushel. Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 5 1/4 to 8 3/4 cents lower from 3.26 3/4- 3.28 3/4 per bushel. Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow Corn rail was 10 1/4 cents lower at 3.13 3/4 per bushel. OATS AND BARLEY: US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20 day was 10 cents higher at 2.33 per bushel. US No 3 or better rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was 10 cents higher at 3.40 per bushel. Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not available per cwt. SORGHUM: US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 18 cents lower at 5.48 per cwt. Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the farmer, fob elevator) was 18 to 24 cents lower from 5.39-5.60 per cwt. OILSEEDS: Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans, no bid. Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 19 1/4 to 22 1/4 cents lower from 9.34 3/4- 9.41 3/4 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck soybeans were 14 to 16 cents lower at 9.20 per bushel. Central Illinois 48 percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 2.90 to 7.90 lower from 297.60-307.60 per ton.
