Lentils Maintain Firm ToneVANCOUVER - Jan 22/10 - SNS -- North American lentil markets maintained their firm tone during the past week, with offers from growers continuing to lag behind the needs of processors and exporters. Bullish speculation about the upcoming stocks in all positions report for Canada is also a factor in markets, with that story helped by record export movement during the first third of the 2009-10 marketing year. Almost 545,000 metric tons (MT) of lentils were exported during the four month period, with shipments in October setting a new single month record, while shipments in November set a record for that month.
