PECANS PRICES PAID TO GROWERS
TEXAS (North, Central, South, Eastern Areas)
Deliveries by growers to delivery points of improved varieties were

pecans as well as for natives. Prices paid to growers were higher for
natives. Harvesting has slowed for the season as the quantity and quality of
pecans are beginning to diminish. Trade sources report the recent rainfalls
have caused quality deterioration in the form of early sprouting, embryo rot,
and shell splitting. The weather forecast for the end of the week calls for
cold and wet conditions, with cold and dry conditions the early part of next
week.
