Lentils Steady As Holidays Approach
VANCOUVER - Dec 18/09 - SNS -- International lentil markets are entering the Christmas and New Year's holiday period on a generally steady note, with neither buyers not sellers pushing the market.
Latin American importers should remain relatively quiet until the second week of January, at which point many people are looking for business activity to pick up.
Cold weather in Europe is also driving hopes pulse consumption rates will improve, leading to some fill in buying and a greater need to replenish retail pipeline stocks in next year's summer and fall shipping period.
