Australia -- Queensland Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Mar 31/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. IDQ1070001 WARNING SUMMARY No warnings. STATE FORECAST for the rest of Tuesday and Wednesday Isolated showers developing along the tropical east coast. Isolated showers or thunderstorms in a broad band from the southern Gulf country through the central interior to the southeast, with storm activity increasing in the southeast on Wednesday. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds. EXTENDED OUTLOOK The high over the Tasman Sea will weaken on Wednesday, allowing southeast winds along the Queensland coast to ease from the south. The inland surface trough will lie near Mt.Isa, Longreach and Charleville today, moving slowly east later in the week with a band of mostly isolated showers or thunderstorms in a band ahead of the trough. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to increase in the southeast on Wednesday in response to some colder air aloft, and then continue in this area until about Friday.
