Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 31/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warnings

Weather Pattern
A high pressure ridge over Victoria will weaken today as a low pressure trough
and cold front approach from the west before crossing Victoria during Wednesday.
A high pressure system will develop well south of the Bight by Wednesday night
then move slowly eastwards, passing south of Tasmania during Friday night. 
Victoria
Tuesday:   Fine. A mild to warm day with high cloud increasing from the west.
Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.
Fire Danger: Moderate to high
UV Index: 7 [High] decreasing to 5 [Moderate] under cloud.   
Wednesday: Cloudy with areas of rain tending to showers in the west later. Mild.
Thursday:  Scattered showers in the south particularly in the east. Becoming
fine in the north. Mild. 
Friday:    Showers in Gippsland and near the coast becoming more isolated. Fine
elsewhere. Mild to warm.
Forecast for Melbourne
Tuesday
Fine and mostly sunny, although some high cloud increasing later today and
tonight. Light wind and an afternoon seabreeze.

Cloudy. Rain at times. Wind tending southerly and freshening.    Min 15    Max
Thursday
Shower or two clearing. Fresh wind.         Min 15    Max 22
Friday
Fine.                                       Min 14    Max 22
Trend for Saturday, Sunday and Monday
Fine. Warmer.
Forecast for Port Phillip and Western Port
Tuesday:   East to northeast wind at 5 to 10 knots and afternoon seabreezes to
15 knots. Waves generally half a metre or less.
Wednesday: North to northeast wind to about 10 knots shifting southerly and
increasing to 15 to 20 knots during the afternoon. Waves to around half a metre
rising to around 1 metre later.
Thursday:  Southeasterly winds of 15 to 25 knots.  
Friday:    East to southeasterly winds of 15 to 20 knots. 
Headline Melbourne: Fine. Mostly sunny.
