Minnesota Weekly Feed ReviewPORTLAND - Nov 24/09 - SNS -- Feed ingredient markets for the U.S. Pacific Northwest are summarized in the latest weekly report for the region issues by the USDA.
Pacific Northwest Weekly Feed
All prices are quoted per ton, unless otherwise noted.
Pacific Northwest Market Summary: Feed ingredient offers ended the
reporting week on Tuesday, November 24, mixed, compared to last Tuesday's
offers. Oats, distillers dried grains, and alfalfa offers trended steady,
while offers for soybean meal, meat and bone meal, whole cottonseed, and
barley were higher. Corn offers were lower. There was no recent price
comparison available for wheat millrun offers. Offers for canola meal were
not available.
Oilseed Meal Markets: Offers for 47 percent protein Soybean Meal, for
current rail delivery, were 367.40 to 371.40 per ton, 4.70 to 6.70 per ton
higher than last week's offers. Basis offers ranged from 52.00 to 56.00 over
the Chicago December soybean meal close of 315.40, in a limited test compared
to last Tuesday's basis range of 52.00 to 58.00 over the Chicago December
soybean meal close of 308.70. Offers for soybean meal truck delivered to the
Willamette Valley were not available. Offers for nearby rail and truck
delivered Canola Meal, 34 to 36 percent protein, were not available.
Whole Cottonseed: Whole Cottonseed offers for delivery to points in the
Pacific Northwest from the Midsouth in single boxcars were 295.00 to 300.00,
10.00 higher. Offers for whole cottonseed trans-loaded onto trucks and
delivered to Willamette Valley dairies were 312.00 to 315.00, 10.00 higher
than last week's offers.
Animal Proteins: Offers for 46 to 50 percent protein Meat and Bone Meal,
FOB Seattle plants, were 20.00 higher compared to week ago offers at 330.00.
Offers for meat and bone meal truck delivered to Portland and the Willamette
Valley were 360.00, 35.00 higher than week ago offers, with trading at this
level.
Wheat Millrun: Feed mill offers for wheat millrun for nearby delivery,
loaded truck FOB the flour mill in Portland, were nominal at 140.00. Offers
for wheat millrun truck delivered to the Willamette Valley were nominal at
157.00. Flour mill offers for wheat millrun rail delivered to Portland on the
Burlington Northern Line from eastern Washington and eastern Oregon were
115.00 to 125.00 for November through March delivery, this is 5.00 higher than
last Tuesday's offers. Offers for wheat millrun FOB eastern Oregon and
eastern Washington were November through March delivery were 110.00, steady
compared to week ago offers. Offers for April through September delivery were
100.00, also steady with week ago offers.
Alfalfa Products: Offers for Suncured Alfalfa Pellets, 15 percent protein,
delivered by truck to the Willamette Valley, were 165.00 to 175.00, steady
compared to week ago offers.
Distillers Dried Grains: Offers for Distillers Dried Grains delivered by
rail to feed mills in the Pacific Northwest were 162.00 to 170.00, steady
compared to last week's offers. Offers for distillers dried grains trans-
loaded onto trucks and delivered to Willamette Valley dairies were 177.00 to
187.00, also steady compared to week ago offers.
Coarse Feeding Grains: Offers for US 2 Barley for nearby delivery to
Portland in single rail cars for domestic use were not well tested, but were
indicated as 168.00 to 175.00, 10.00 to 13.00 higher than week ago offers.
Offers for US 2 Barley rail and truck delivered to the Willamette Valley were
also not well tested, but were indicated as 168.00 to 180.00, 8.00 to 15.00
higher than last week's offers. US 2 Yellow Corn offers for rail delivery to
points north of Seattle were 9.25 to 10.25 per ton lower at 174.75 to 176.00.
Offers for US 2 Yellow Corn rail delivered to points in the Seattle area were
9.25 to 10.50 per ton lower at 171.00 to 172.50. Offers for US 2 Yellow Corn
rail delivered to Portland were 9.25 to 10.25 lower at 170.00 to 171.50.
Offers for US 2 Yellow Corn truck delivered to the Willamette Valley were
indicated as 182.50 to 196.00, 4.00 to 12.75 per ton lower compared to last
Tuesday's offers. US 2 Yellow Corn offers for truck delivery to the Yakima
Valley were 9.00 to 9.25 per ton lower than last week's offers at 168.50 to
182.50. Chicago December corn futures closed at 3.76, 26 cents lower than
last Tuesday's close of 4.02. Lower Chicago December corn futures pressured
cash corn offers. Offers for US 2 Heavy White Oats were 140.00 to 160.00,
steady compared to week ago offers.
