AMARILLO - Nov 20/09 - SNS -- Market conditions for cattle, hogs and

lambs in the major markets in the U.S. midwest are summarized in the latest daily report from the USDA.



Daily Livestock Summary

                                     CATTLE
Direct Trade:
   In the direct slaughter cattle trade in the Five Major Marketing Areas,
Texas/Oklahoma; Kansas; Nebraska; Colorado; Iowa/Minnesota; not enough sales to
establish an adequate market trend.  Steers: Live basis; (all Grades: 0 head).
Dressed basis; (all Grades: 203 head) 130.00-132.00, weighted average 131.16.
Heifers: Live basis; (all Grades: 110 head) 81.00.  Dressed Basis; (all Grades:
42 head) 132.00.

   For the week: In the Texas Panhandle live sales sold 1.00 lower. In Kansas
live sales sold 1.00 lower.  In Nebraska live sales sold steady to 1.00 lower
and dressed sales sold steady to 2.00 lower.  In Colorado live sales sold
steady.  In Western Cornbelt live sales sold unevenly steady and dressed sales
sold steady to 2.00 lower.

The average live weight of cattle slaughtered in the Texas Panhandle for the
week ending 11-14-2009 was 1273 lbs with 39 percent heifers compared to 1263 lbs
and 44 percent heifers the previous week and 1272 lbs and 41 percent heifers the
same week a year ago.

51.62.  Western Cornbelt .48 higher at 44.00-54.00, weighted average price
51.81.  Eastern Cornbelt .46 higher at 44.75-53.00, weighted average price
50.17.

   Live Basis (240-280 lbs): National direct barrows and gilts .21 lower at
