DES MOINES - Nov 20/09 - SNS -- The USDA's Argicultural Market Service (AMS) office here issued its latest daily review of the U.S. carlot market for various types of meat.


USDA Carlot Meat 4:00 Summary, Compared to Previous Day
Prices in dollars per hundredweight, Equated to FOB Omaha Basis

NATIONAL BOXED BEEF CUTOUT  LM_XB403

   Boxed beef cutout values steady to weak on moderate demand and moderate to
Heavy offerings. Select and Choice rib and loin steady to weak while chuck and
round cuts steady to firm.  Beef trimmings higher on light to moderate demand and
light offerings.

   Estimated composite cutout value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses dn 0.43
at 139.18; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses dn 0.10 at 131.97; based on 112.57
loads of Choice cuts, 50.97 loads of Select cuts, 5.39 loads of Trimmings, and
54.86 loads of coarse ground trimmings.

CARCASS PRICE EQUIVALENT INDEX VALUE  NW_LS410

   Estimated carcass price equivalent value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses
Dn 0.67 at 125.54; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses dn 0.55 at 118.92.
   Current index reflects the equivalent of 213,444 head of cattle.

NATIONAL 5 DAY-ROLLING CUTTER COW CUTOUT  LM_XB405

   The Cutter cow carcass gross cutout value was estimated at 99.16 dn 1.16.

BY-PRODUCT DROP VALUE  NW_LS441

   Hide and offal from a typical slaughter steer was estimated at 9.49 up
0.06 when compared to Thursday's value.

NATIONAL CARLOT PORK  NW_LS500

   Sales reported on 42.63 loads of pork cuts and 8.0 loads of trim/process
pork.

   Compared to Thursday's Close:  Fresh loins steady; butts 2.00-3.00 higher;
sknd hams 1.00-2.00 higher; sdls bellies steady; lean trimmings steady. Trading
slow, with light to moderate demand and mostly light offerings.

   *Calculations for a 200 lb Pork Carcass 53-54 percent lean 0.65" -0.80" back
fat at last rib.* **58.21 up 1.27**  Loins bone in fresh 1/4 inch trim 21# DN-
LGT 82.00-84.00; Hams bone in trimmed, 17-20 lbs trim spec 1 69.00; 20-23 lbs
trim spec 1 59.00; seedless bellies 12-14 lbs 72.00; 14-16 lbs 74.00.
