Corn Stocks Well Below Last YearWASHINGTON - Mar 31/03 - STAT -- Corn stocks in all positions on March 1, 2003 totaled 5.13 billion bushels, down 11% from March 1, 2002, according to the latest stocks in all positions report from the USDA. Of the total stocks, 2.94 billion bushels are stored on farms, down 12% from a year earlier. Off-farm stocks, at 2.19 billion bushels, are down 10% from the previous year. The December 2002 - February 2003 indicated disappearance is 2.51 billion bushels, compared with 2.47 billion bushels during the same period last year.
