United States -- Minor Oilseed Production SummaryWASHINGTON - Mar 31/03 - STAT -- The first indications of minor oilseed production prospects for 2003 were contained in the latest seeding intentions estimates released by the USDA. Though not covering all oilseeds covered by this category, the USDA estimated the amount of land which would be planted to canola and oil-type sunflower seed. In its report, the USDA said oil-type sunflower seedings will be virtually unchanged from last year's 2.125 million acres; while canola plantings in the United States will drop from 1.459 million acres to 1.249 million.
