Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 30/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warnings

Weather Pattern
A high pressure system west of Tasmania will move to the Tasman Sea on Tuesday.
A cold front south of Western Australia will continue moving eastwards, crossing
Victoria on Wednesday. Another high pressure system will develop south of the
Bight and move towards Tasmania on Thursday. 
Victoria
Monday:    Fine. A mild to warm and mostly sunny day although some cloud in the
south. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.
Fire Danger: High in the north. 
UV Index: 7 [High] decreasing to 5 [Moderate] under cloud.   
Tuesday:   Fine apart from local morning fog in the south. Warm.
Wednesday: Cloudy with showers extending from the west. Mild to warm.
Thursday:  Scattered showers in the south contracting east. Fine in the north.
Mild to warm.
Forecast for Melbourne
Monday
Fine. A partly cloudy day with a light to moderate southerly wind.

Morning fog patches then a fine and mostly sunny afternoon. Light winds.    Min

Wednesday
A few showers developing.                   Min 17    Max 25
Thursday
Shower or two clearing.                     Min 15    Max 22

Fine and generally warm.
Forecast for Port Phillip and Western Port
Monday:    Southerly winds of 5 to 10 knots freshening to average 15 knots in
the afternoon then tending southeasterly this evening. Waves up to 1 metre this
afternoon.
Tuesday:   Southeasterly wind of 10 to 15 knots tending east to northeasterly.
Afternoon seabreezes to 15 knots. Waves below 1 metre.
Wednesday: Northeasterly wind to 10 knots shifting southerly and increasing 15
to 20 knots later.
Thursday:  Southeasterly winds at 15 to 25 knots.  
Headline Melbourne: Fine.
