Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 29/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Pattern
A low pressure trough just east of Victoria will away today and a weak cold
front will cross Tasmania tonight.   A high pressure system will then move from
southwest of Victoria on Monday to the Tasman Sea later Tuesday.  A low over
Western Australia will weaken and combine with a cold front to cross Victoria on
Wednesday.

Sunday:    Scattered showers about the Gippsland ranges today and isolated
clearing showers in remaining southern areas.  A mild partly cloudy day in the
south but warmer and sunny across the north, with generally light to moderate
southerly winds. Fresh afternoon coastal seabreezes. 
Fire Danger: Generally high in the north. 
UV Index: 7 [High] decreasing to 5 [Moderate] under cloud.   
Monday:    Morning drizzle areas in the south and local fogs but a mostly fine
afternoon. Mild. 
Tuesday:   Fine apart from local morning fog in the south. Generally warm.
Wednesday: Cooler change extending from the west during the day with scattered
showers.
Forecast for Melbourne
Sunday
A local shower or two but mainly fine.  Partly cloudy with a moderate southerly
wind.

Morning drizzle patches. Mainly fine, partly cloudy afternoon.    Min 15    Max

Forecast for Port Phillip and Western Port
Sunday:    South to southeasterly winds at 12 to 18 knots this afternoon easing
back to about 10 knots late tonight. Waves to about 1 metre abating tonight. 
Monday:    Southerly winds 5 to 10 knots, freshening to average 15 knots in the
afternoon. Waves to half a metre rising half to one metre during the afternoon.
Tuesday:   East to northeast wind at 5 to 15 knots and afternoon seabreezes at
similar strength.
Wednesday: Northeasterly wind to 10 knots shifting south to southwesterly and
increasing 15 to 20 knots later.
Headline Melbourne: Mainly fine.
