Australia -- Queensland Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Mar 28/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. IDQ1070001 WARNING SUMMARY No warnings. STATE FORECAST for the rest of Saturday and Sunday Scattered showers and thunderstorms over northern Cape York Peninsula. Isolated afternoon and evening showers or thunderstorms over most of the interior and the southeast but clearing from the southern interior on Sunday. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds. EXTENDED OUTLOOK The high in the Bight will move into the Tasman Sea on Monday and develop a firm ridge along the south coast with fresh to strong southeast winds. The northern section of the inland trough will remain near stationary for the next few days while the southern section will move into the southeast tomorrow but then drift westwards early next week as the ridge along the south coast firms. A few showers or thunderstorms are expected to the east of this trough. The next upstream trough will move over the interior on Thursday and Friday with increased activity with the trough. The enhanced showers and thunderstorms over the northern tropics will continue for the next few days before easing. Overnight temperatures will be below average where dry clear skies prevail.
