Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
On Sunday instability over the northeast should result in some isolated
afternoon or evening thunderstorms about the Northern Tablelands, and some late
showers may develop along the South Coast behind a weak southerly change. Hot
to very hot conditions will remain a feature over the inland for Sunday and
most of next week, although a gusty south to southwest change moving across the
state during Monday and Tuesday will briefly bring slightly milder
temperatures. On Monday it will also bring isolated showers or thunderstorms,
chiefly along the northern and central ranges and coast, but also possible over
the south and the eastern inland although not much precipitation is expected
there, These will contract to the northeast on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Forecast for Sunday
Fine apart from the isolated afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms
about the Northern Tablelands and the chance of some late light showers on the
South Coast. Hot to very hot inland. Generally light variable winds over the
inland, southeast to northeast winds to the east of the ranges.
Fire danger: Locally Severe [50-74] for the Lower Western, Riverina and Central
West Slopes and Plains
Forecast for Monday
Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the central and eastern districts, more
likely about the northern and central coast and ranges and with little
precipitation expected inland. Fine in the far west. Hot to very hot, tempered
on much of the coast by sea breezes. Westerly winds and northeasterly seabreezes
ahead of a fresh to strong gusty southwest to southerly change extending over
the south. Raised dust likely in the west near the change.
Forecast for Tuesday
Isolated morning showers/drizzle on the southern and central coasts. Isolated
showers and thunderstorms about the northern ranges and coast, chiefly afternoon
and evening. Fine elsewhere. Milder southwest to southeast winds extending
throughout.
Forecast for Wednesday
Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast, chiefly in the afternoon.
Fine remainder, though temperatures very hot in the west, and hot to very hot
over central and eastern parts, tempered along the coast by sea breezes
