Australia -- New South Wales Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Nov 14/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. Warning Summary at issue time: Fire Weather Warning for tonight for Riverina and Lower Western. Fire Weather warning for Sunday for Central West Slopes and Plains, Riverina, and Lower Western for Sunday. Refer to Fire Weather Warning for the latest Rural Fire Service Total Fire Ban information. For the latest warning information please check the Bureau's web site www.bom.gov.au/weather/nsw Current Weather Situation and Future Developments: On Sunday instability over the northeast should result in some isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorms about the Northern Tablelands, and some late showers may develop along the South Coast behind a weak southerly change. Hot to very hot conditions will remain a feature over the inland for Sunday and most of next week, although a gusty south to southwest change moving across the state during Monday and Tuesday will briefly bring slightly milder temperatures. On Monday it will also bring isolated showers or thunderstorms, chiefly along the northern and central ranges and coast, but also possible over the south and the eastern inland although not much precipitation is expected there, These will contract to the northeast on Tuesday and Wednesday. Forecast for Sunday Fine apart from the isolated afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms about the Northern Tablelands and the chance of some late light showers on the South Coast. Hot to very hot inland. Generally light variable winds over the inland, southeast to northeast winds to the east of the ranges. Fire danger: Locally Severe [50-74] for the Lower Western, Riverina and Central West Slopes and Plains Forecast for Monday Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the central and eastern districts, more likely about the northern and central coast and ranges and with little precipitation expected inland. Fine in the far west. Hot to very hot, tempered on much of the coast by sea breezes. Westerly winds and northeasterly seabreezes ahead of a fresh to strong gusty southwest to southerly change extending over the south. Raised dust likely in the west near the change. Forecast for Tuesday Isolated morning showers/drizzle on the southern and central coasts. Isolated showers and thunderstorms about the northern ranges and coast, chiefly afternoon and evening. Fine elsewhere. Milder southwest to southeast winds extending throughout. Forecast for Wednesday Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast, chiefly in the afternoon. Fine remainder, though temperatures very hot in the west, and hot to very hot over central and eastern parts, tempered along the coast by sea breezes --- STAT News Service
