Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 9/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

for the period until midnight EDT Friday 13 November 2009.
Warning Summary at issue time

telephone 1300-659-217* or through some TV and radio broadcasts.
Weather Situation
A high pressure system is centred off the northern New South Wales coast. A
weak cold front will brush Tasmania tonight. Another high pressure system south
of the Bight will drift towards Tasmania mid week, reaching the Tasman Sea on
Friday. A weak inland low pressure trough will dip into northern Victoria on
Tuesday then persist until Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of Monday
Fine and generally clear. Light winds inland. Sea breezes about the coast this
evening.
Forecast for Tuesday
Fine apart from the chance of afternoon thundery showers about the southwest. A
mainly sunny day. Hot inland with light winds, milder afternoon sea breezes
developing near the coast.
Forest Fire Danger: Generally high, but reaching very high in the north.
Forecast for Wednesday
Fine apart from local early morning fog patches in the south and the chance of
afternoon thunderstorms about the ranges. Hot inland, but milder along the
coast during the afternoon with sea breezes.
Forecast for Thursday
Fine apart from local early morning fog patches in the south and the chance of
afternoon thunderstorms about the ranges. Hot in the north but milder in the
south with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.
Forecast for Friday
Fine apart from isolated early morning fogs in the south. Hot in the north with
light winds, but a little milder in the south with sea breezes developing along
the coastal fringe.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Tuesday.
