Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 9/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A high pressure system will remain over the Tasman Sea for the remainder of the
week and direct relatively light winds over NSW.  Most of the state will be fine
through until Thursday afternoon. Isolated morning showers are possible on the
far north coast on Tuesday and isolated afternoon thunderstorms are possible in
Alpine areas on Wednesday afternoon. On Thursday a trough is expected to develop
over inland parts, with a weak southerly change moving up the southern half of
the coast during the day. Afternoon thunderstorms are forecast on Thursday along
the ranges and slopes, but fine weather will continue through other parts. Hot
to very hot days and warm nights are likely over areas west of the ranges
through until the end of next weekend.
Forecast for Tuesday
Morning fog areas on the coast and ranges. Isolated showers on the far north
coast, clearing by the afternoon. Fine over the remainder. Southeast to
northeast winds. Hot to very hot over the inland.
Fire danger: Very High in the Riverina
Forecast for Wednesday
Morning fog areas on the coast and ranges, otherwise fine apart from isolated
afternoon thunderstorms on the Snowy Mountains. Southeast to northeast winds.
Hot to very hot over the inland.
Forecast for Thursday
Morning fog areas on the coast and ranges. Isolated afternoon showers and
thunderstorms along the ranges and slopes. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to
northeast winds with a weak southerly change along the southern half of the
coast. Hot to very hot over the inland.
Forecast for Friday
Isolated showers along the coast, clearing along the southern half during the
morning. Isolated showers and thunderstorms along the northern half of the
ranges and western slopes. South to southeast winds. Hot to very hot over the
inland.
