USDA National Grain ReviewST. JOSEPH - Mar 28/03 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Mar 28.
WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
Wheat and corn bids finished the week sharply lower. Export sales
were below expectations for both commodities, although this office did
not receive any export announcements this week. Early week moisture
across the Corn Belt and hard red winter wheat growing areas added
pressure to bids. However, forecasts for a sharp drop in temperatures
over the weekend has many traders concerned that damage is possible
with the wheat crop in a critical stage at this point. Strong advances
were seen in soybean pits due to export optimism and technical buying
on the Board most of the week. Harvest delays were reported in South
America due to wet conditions. Traders await next week’s USDA reports.
Wheat 3 to 16 cents lower. Corn 2 to 9 cents lower. Sorghum 9 to 14
cents lower. Soybeans 3 to 8 cents higher.
