Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 28/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Pattern
A ridge of high pressure south of Victoria will weaken on Saturday. A low
pressure trough will continue over northern Victoria over the weekend. A cold
front will move through Bass Strait late Sunday with the next high pressure
system expected to move across Victoria on Monday and over the Tasman Sea on
Tuesday.

Saturday:  Isolated showers and drizzle patches on and south of the ranges.
Isolated afternoon and evening thunderstorms about the central and eastern
ranges. A mild to warm and partly cloudy day with light to moderate southwest to
southeasterly winds.
Fire Danger:      Generally moderate to high.
UV Index: 7 [High] decreasing to 5 [Moderate] under cloud.   
Sunday:    Morning fog and drizzle patches in the south. Isolated afternoon
thunderstorms over the central and eastern ranges. Mild to warm 
Monday:    Fine apart from morning fog and drizzle patches in the south. Mild to
warm.
Tuesday:   Fine apart from morning fog patches in the south. Generally warm

Saturday
A few showers or drizzle patches, mainly during the morning. The risk of a
thunderstorm during the afternoon chiefly about the nearby hills. A partly
cloudy day with light to moderate southeasterly winds.

Saturday:  Southerly winds of 15 to 20 knots tending southeasterly overnight and
easing to 10 to 15 knots, before increasing to 15 to 20 knots again in the
afternoon and evening. Waves up to 1 metre abating to around half a metre
overnight, then rising 1 metre again in the afternoon.
Sunday:    Variable winds of 10 knots or less then seabreezes to 15 knots
developing in the afternoon.
Monday:    Southwesterly winds at 10 to 15 knots.
Tuesday:   Variable wind to 10 knots and afternoon seabreezes around 15 knots.
Headline Melbourne: Few showers, mainly morning.
Headline Victoria:  Showers and drizzle patches in the south. Isolated
