Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 5/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

for the period until midnight EDT Monday 9 November 2009.
Warning Summary at issue time

telephone 1300-659-217* or through some TV and radio broadcasts.
Weather Situation
A high pressure system will pass to the south of the State tonight, reaching
the Tasman Sea on Friday. The high will then strengthen and remain over the
central Tasman Sea during the weekend, directing warmer north to northeasterly
winds over Victoria. A weak trough of low pressure will form over southwest
Victoria on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday
Fine. Clear in the north, but partly cloudy in the south. Moderate to locally
fresh southerly winds.
Forecast for Friday
Fine apart from local early morning fog patches in the south. A mainly sunny
day. Mild in the south, warm in the north. Generally light winds inland and
moderate to fresh seabreezes developing about the coast.
Forest Fire Danger: High in the north, locally very high in th northwest.
Forecast for Saturday
Fine apart from local early fog patches in Gippsland. A mainly sunny day. Mild
near the coast, grading warm inland and hot in the far northwest. Light to
moderate north to northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.
Forecast for Sunday
Fine. A mainly sunny day. Warm to hot inland with light to moderate
northeasterly winds, milder near the coast with afternoon seabreezes.
Forecast for Monday
Fine apart from isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the southwest.
A mainly sunny day. Warm to hot inland with light to moderate northeasterly
winds, milder near the coast with afternoon seabreezes.
