Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 27/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warnings
Nil.
Weather Pattern
A ridge of high pressure will persist south of Victoria today and Saturday but
will then move away to the east. A low pressure trough will continue over
northern Victoria over the weekend. A cold front will move through Bass Strait
during Sunday while its associated low pressure system will move to the
southeast of Tasmania on Monday. 
Victoria
Friday:    Isolated showers continuing in the south and isolated thunderstorms
developing about the central and eastern ranges during the afternoon. Fine in
the north. A mild to warm and partly cloudy day with light to moderate south to
southeast winds, tending more easterly over eastern districts. 
Fire Danger:      Generally moderate to high.
UV Index: 7 [High] decreasing to 5 [Moderate] under cloud.   
Saturday:  Morning fog and drizzle patches in the south. Isolated afternoon
thunderstorms about the central and eastern ranges. Fine elsewhere. Mild to
warm.
Sunday:    Morning fogs in the south. Isolated showers developing over southern
and mountain areas from the west later. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms over
the central and eastern ranges. 
Monday:    Scattered showers on and south of the ranges, mainly near the coast.
Fine on the northern plains. Generally mild.
Forecast for Melbourne
Friday
Partly cloudy with a shower or two, and the risk of a thunderstorm over the
nearby hills. Light to moderate southerly winds.

Saturday
Fine after morning fog or drizzle. A partly cloudy day with light to moderate
southeast winds.    Min 15    Max 22
Sunday
Mainly fine.                                Min 15    Max 24
Monday
Few showers.                                Min 14    Max 20
Trend for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
A few showers. Cool to mild.
Forecast for Port Phillip and Western Port
Friday:    South to southeasterly winds of 10 to 15 knots, locally reaching 20
knots this afternoon and evening. Waves around half a metre, but reaching 1
metre this afternoon.
Saturday:  Southeast to easterly winds around 10 knots and afternoon seabreezes
to 15 knots. Waves mostly around half a metre.
Sunday:    Variable winds of 10 knots or less then seabreezes to 15 knots
developing in the afternoon.
Monday:    Southwesterly winds around 15 knots, reaching 20 knots at times
during the afternoon.
Headline Melbourne: Shower or two.
Headline Victoria:  Isolated showers in the south. Isolated thunderstorms in the
