Canada -- Red Meat in Cold StorageOTTAWA - Mar 27/03 - STAT -- Red meat inventories in cold storage remained well above year earlier levels in Canada, despite declines in the amount of beef, mutton and lamb on hand. The latest Statistics Canada inventory report showed there was a preliminary total of 87,825 metric tons (MT) of red meat on hand at the start of March, up from a revised total of 87,747 MT the previous month and well ahead of the 80.788 MT on hand one year earlier.
