Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 27/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Pattern
A ridge of high pressure will persist south of Victoria over the weekend and a
low pressure trough will continue over northern Victoria. A cold front will move
south of the Bight on Saturday but will weaken as it approaches Victoria on
Sunday. On Monday a low pressure system will move to the southeast of Tasmania. 
Victoria
Friday:    Fog and drizzle patches in the south, clearing by the afternoon.
Isolated thunderstorms developing about the eastern ranges in the afternoon.
Fine elsewhere.  A mild to warm and partly cloudy day with light to moderate
south to southeast winds, tending more easterly over eastern districts. 
Fire Danger:      Generally moderate to high.
UV Index: 7 [High] decreasing to 5 [Moderate] under cloud.   
Saturday:  Fine apart from morning fogs in the south and isolated afternoon
thunderstorms about the central and eastern ranges. Mild to warm.
Sunday:    Morning fogs and drizzle patches in the south. Isolated showers
developing over southern and mountain areas from the west later. Isolated
afternoon thunderstorms over the central and eastern ranges. 
Monday:    Scattered showers on and south of the ranges, mainly near the coast.
Fine on the northern plains. Cool to mild.

Morning fog or drizzle patches clearing to a fine and mostly sunny afternoon.
Light winds, tending moderate southerly during the afternoon.

Forecast for Port Phillip and Western Port
Friday:    South to southeasterly winds around 10 knots freshening to average 15
knots in the afternoon with seabreezes. Waves mostly around half a metre.
Saturday:  Southeast to easterly winds around 10 knots and afternoon seabreezes
to 15 knots.
Sunday:    Variable winds of 10 knots or less then seabreezes to 20 knots
developing in the afternoon.
Monday:    Southwesterly winds around 15 knots, reaching 20 knots at times
during the afternoon.
Headline Melbourne: Becoming fine.
Headline Victoria:  Morning drizzle and fog patches in south. Isolated
