Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 26/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Pattern
A ridge of high pressure will persist south of Victoria during the next few
days, strengthening south of Tasmania on Friday before moving further eastwards.
A low pressure trough will continue over Victoria for the rest of the week. A
cold front will move south of the Bight on Saturday, but will weaken as it
approaches western Victoria on Sunday.

Thursday:  Areas of low cloud at first clearing to a fine, mild to warm and
mostly sunny afternoon. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds tending
more easterly in the east.
Fire Danger:      High to very high in the north.
UV Index: 7 [High] decreasing to 4 [Moderate] under cloud   
Friday:    Fine apart from local morning fog in the south and isolated afternoon
thunderstorms about the eastern ranges. Mild to warm.
Saturday:  Fine apart from morning fogs in the south and isolated afternoon
thunderstorms about the central and eastern ranges. Mild to warm.
Sunday:    Morning fogs in the south. Isolated showers developing over southern
and mountain areas from the west later. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms over
the central and eastern ranges.

Thursday
Areas of low cloud clearing to mainly sunny afternoon. Light winds and afternoon
seabreezes.

to southeasterly by early afternoon and freshening to average 15 knots later.

Friday:    Southeasterly winds around 10 knots and afternoon seabreezes to
around 15 knots. Waves mostly around half a metre or less.
Saturday:  Southeasterly winds around 10 knots and afternoon seabreezes to 20
knots.
Sunday:    Variable wind to around 10 knots in the morning. Afternoon seabreezes
to 20 knots.
Headline Melbourne: Fine.
