Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 26/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Pattern
A ridge of high pressure will lie south of Victoria over the next few days,
strengthening south of Tasmania on Friday before moving away to the east. A weak
low pressure trough over central to eastern Victoria will persist for the rest
of the week. A cold front will move south of the Bight on Saturday but will
weaken as it enters western Victoria on Sunday.

Thursday:  Fine apart from local fog at first in the south, isolated drizzle
near the coast in the morning, and isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms
about the eastern ranges. A mild to warm and mostly sunny afternoon with
generally light winds inland and moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds
near the coast.
Fire Danger:      High to very high in the north.
UV Index: 7 [High] decreasing to 4 [Moderate] under cloud   
Friday:    Fine apart from local morning fog in the south, coastal drizzle at
first, and isolated afternoon thunderstorms about the eastern ranges. Mild to
warm.
Saturday:  Morning fogs and isolated showers and drizzle in the south. Isolated
afternoon thunderstorms about the central and eastern ranges. Mild to warm.
Sunday:    Morning fogs in the south. Isolated showers developing over southern
and mountain areas from the west. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms over the
central and eastern ranges.
