Increased monthly marketings of soybeans, corn, apples, and peanuts offset decreased marketings of cattle, broilers, wheat, and grapes. The preliminary All Farm Products Index is down 27 points (18%) from September 2008. The Food Commodities Index, at 126, increased 1 point (0.8%) from a month ago but decreased 25 points (17%) from September 2008. The September Index of Prices Paid for Commodities and Services, Interest, Taxes, and Farm Wage Rates (PPITW) is 176% of the 1990-92 average. The index is unchanged from August but 14 points (7.4%) below September 2008.
