STATE FORECAST for Tuesday Isolated showers and thunderstorms over most northern and eastern districts, increasing on eastern Cape York Peninsula during Tuesday. Fine in the west. Generally light to moderate SE to NE winds. EXTENDED OUTLOOK The inland surface trough is expected to drift west of a line Normanton to Longreach to Charleville during Tuesday, and then remain over western Queensland until at least Friday. A band of afternoon and night showers and thunderstorms will continue to the near east of the trough with the main activity over the southern half of the state. Mostly fine weather is expected further east, and fine weather will continue west of the inland trough. A narrow ridge of high pressure building along the east coast will produce a slow freshening of coastal SE winds during Tuesday and Wednesday.
