Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 24/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warnings

Weather Pattern
A low pressure system over the Tasman Sea will remain slow moving for the next
few days. A ridge of high pressure will move to the east of Victoria on Tuesday.
A cold front will weaken as it approaches Tasmania later Tuesday, then a high
pressure system will develop west of Tasmania on Wednesday before moving slowly
eastwards on Thursday. The high should move south of Tasmania on Friday.

Tonight and Tuesday: Fine apart from local morning fog, mainly in the south. A
mild to warm and generally sunny day, although some afternoon cloud about the
east. Light north to northeasterly winds with moderate to fresh afternoon
coastal seabreezes.
UV Index: 7 [High] decreasing to 4 [moderate] under cloud.  
Wednesday: Local morning fog in the south. Isolated morning coastal showers in
the west. Mild to warm.
Thursday:  Local morning fog in the south. Isolated morning coastal showers in
the west. Mild to warm.
Friday:    Local morning fog in the south. Isolated showers in the west, mainly
coastal. Mild to warm.

Tonight and Tuesday
Local morning fog and low cloud clearing to fine and generally sunny. Light 
northeasterly winds with moderate to fresh afternoon and evening seabreezes.

Forecast for Port Phillip and Western Port
Tonight and Tuesday: East to southeasterly winds to 15 knots easing tonight and
tending east to northeasterly  at 5 to 10 knots. Afternoon seabreezes to 20
knots. Waves abating to half a metre or less tonight and most of Tuesday,
reaching 0.5 to 1 metres during the afternoon.
Wednesday: Variable winds to 10 knots and afternoon seabreezes to 20 knots.
Thursday:  South to southeasterly wind to 10 knots and afternoon seabreezes to
20 knots.
Friday:    East to southeasterly winds to 10 knots and afternoon seabreezes to
20 knots.
Headline Melbourne: Fog then fine.
