Dairy Product Markets Mainly Firmer
WASHINGTON - Sep 25/09 - SNS -- Dairy product markets in the United States were generally up during the week finishing September 19, judging from the current USDA statistics.
Cheddar Cheese prices obtained for US 40 pound Blocks averaged $1.34 per pound. The price per pound advanced $1.34 versus the previous week. The price for US 500 pound Barrels adjusted to 38% moisture averaged $1.29 per pound, down 4.5 cents compared to the previous week.
Butter prices paid for 25 kilogram and 68 pound boxes meeting USDA Grade AA standards averaged $1.18 per pound. The U.S. price per pound advanced $1.18 from last week.
Nonfat Dry Milk prices received for bag, tote and tanker sales meeting USDA Extra Grade or USPH Grade A standards averaged 98.5 cents per pound. The U.S. price per pound rose 98.5 cents from last week.
