Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 23/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warnings
A strong wind warning is current for Port Phillip and Western Port.
Weather Pattern
A low pressure system east of Tasmania will remain slow moving for the next few
days. A high pressure system south of the Bight will continue moving steadily
eastwards, passing south of Tasmania during Sunday night. A cold front will
weaken as it approaches Tasmania on Tuesday then another high pressure system
will develop west of Tasmania on Wednesday.     
Victoria
Tonight and Monday: Showers in the southeast clearing during the day. Fine
elsewhere apart from morning fog patches in the south and isolated morning
drizzle about the coast. Mild to warm with generally light winds and afternoon
seabreezes.
Fire Danger: Moderate to high in north and central areas.
UV Index: 7 [High] decreasing to 3 [moderate] under cloud.  
Tuesday:   Fine apart from local morning fogs in the south. Mild to warm.
Wednesday: Mainly fine. Local morning fogs in the south. Isolated coastal
showers in the west. Mild to warm.
Thursday:  Mainly fine. Local morning fogs in the south. Isolated coastal
showers in the west. Mild to warm.

Fine apart from local morning fogs. A partly cloudy day with light winds and
afternoon seabreezes.

Forecast for Port Phillip and Western Port
Tonight and Monday: Southeasterly winds at 20 to 25 knots easing to 15 to 20
knots overnight and becoming variable to 10 knots in the north during the
morning. Wind tending south to southeasterly at 10 to 15 knots later in the
morning with afternoon seabreezes to 20 knots. Waves 1 to 1.5 metres. A strong
wind warning is current.
Tuesday:   Southeasterly wind around 10 knots and afternoon seabreezes to 20
knots.
Wednesday: South to southeasterly wind 10 to 15 knots and afternoon seabreezes
to 20 knots.
Thursday:  South to southeasterly wind 10 to 15 knots and afternoon seabreezes
to 20 knots.
Headline Melbourne: Mainly fine.  
Headline Victoria:  Showers in the southeast clearing. Morning fog in the south.
