Firmer Finish for ChickpeasVANCOUVER - Aug 23/09 - SNS -- International chickpea markets finished the week's trading on a firmer note against tightening supplies form Mexico and limited competition from Turkey and other origins. This allowed Canadian markets to advance even as Statistics Canada forecast production would be better than initially expected in both Alberta and Saskatchewan at 127,700 metric tons (MT), down from 195,600 last year.
