Australia -- New South Wales Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Aug 22/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. Warning Summary at issue time: Strong Wind Warning for coastal waters north of Wooli, and between Seal Rocks and Green Cape. Strong Wind Warning for Sydney Closed Waters. For the latest warning information please check the Bureau's web site www.bom.gov.au/weather/nsw Current Weather Situation and Future Developments: A weak cold front will bring some patchy rain to parts of the inland today although significant falls are unlikely. A more vigorous front is expected to affect the region during Monday and Tuesday, preceded by hot conditions in the northeast, and accompanied by gusty winds and patchy rain inland. Behind this front, drier and cooler air will move across the state as another ridge becomes established over the north, with any remaining shower activity limited to the far southern inland by Tuesday. Forecast for Sunday Some light patchy rain on the far north coast and ranges and over the central inland areas. Isolated showers developing on the southern slopes later. Fine over the remainder. North to northwest winds, and fresh afternoon seabreezes along the coast. Forecast for Monday Cloudy over the central inland areas with some patchy rain, most likely on the central west slopes and ranges. Cloud contracting northwards during the afternoon and evening, but little if any rain expected on the North West Slopes and Plains or in the Upper Hunter districts. Isolated showers over the far southern inland, tending scattered on the western slopes of the southern ranges during the day and falling as snow on the Alps later. Fine over the remainder. Hot in the northeast. West to northwest winds, strong and gusty in many districts with raised dust likely over the western and southern inland. Forecast for Tuesday Isolated showers over the southern inland, tending scattered on the western slopes of the far southern ranges and falling as snow on the Alps. Fine over the remainder. Westerly winds, strong and gusty in the south with raised dust possible.
