MELBOURNE - Aug 22/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time:
Strong Wind Warning for coastal waters north of Wooli, and between Seal Rocks
and Green Cape. Strong Wind Warning for Sydney Closed Waters.
For the latest warning information please check the Bureau's web site

Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A weak cold front will bring some patchy rain to parts of the inland today
although significant falls are unlikely. A more vigorous front is expected to
affect the region during Monday and Tuesday, preceded by hot conditions in the
northeast, and accompanied by gusty winds and patchy rain inland. Behind this
front, drier and cooler air will move across the state as another ridge becomes
established over the north, with any remaining shower activity limited to the
far southern inland by Tuesday.
Forecast for Sunday
Some light patchy rain on the far north coast and ranges and over the central
inland areas. Isolated showers developing on the southern slopes later. Fine
over the remainder. North to northwest winds, and fresh afternoon seabreezes
along the coast.
Forecast for Monday
Cloudy over the central inland areas with some patchy rain, most likely on the
central west slopes and ranges. Cloud contracting northwards during the
afternoon and evening, but little if any rain expected on the North West Slopes
and Plains or in the Upper Hunter districts. Isolated showers over the far
southern inland, tending scattered on the western slopes of the southern ranges
during the day and falling as snow on the Alps later. Fine over the remainder.
Hot in the northeast. West to northwest winds, strong and gusty in many
districts with raised dust likely over the western and southern inland.
Forecast for Tuesday
Isolated showers over the southern inland, tending scattered on the western
slopes of the far southern ranges and falling as snow on the Alps. Fine over the
remainder. Westerly winds, strong and gusty in the south with raised dust
possible.
Forecast for Wednesday
Isolated showers on the southern inland, tending scattered over the western
slopes of the far southern ranges. Snow showers on the southern Alps. Westerly
winds.
