July Egg Output Drops SlightlyWASHINGTON - Aug 21/09 - SNS -- U.S, according to today's USDA report on the sector. egg came in at 7.59 billion during July 2009, down slightly from a year ago. Production included 6.51 billion table eggs, and 1.08 billion hatching eggs, of which 1.01 billion were broiler-type and 71 million were egg-type. The total number of layers during July 2009 averaged 333 million, down 1% from last year. July egg production per 100 layers was 2,281 eggs, up 1% from July 2008.
