Australia -- Queensland Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 6/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

IDQ1070001
WARNING SUMMARY
Nil
STATE FORECAST
for Friday
Isolated showers about exposed points of the east coast, increasing about the NE
tropical coast. Early fog patches about the central and SE coast. A little early
frost mainly over the Granite Belt. Very warm over eastern districts this
afternoon with NW winds ahead of a cooler, SW'ly change with a little dust haze.
Moderate to fresh SE winds in the tropics, lighter winds further south.
EXTENDED OUTLOOK
The change will clear the SE coast early on Saturday and move up the central
coast during the day. Cool over the SE with strong SSW winds developing. Early
frost developing over the southern Central Highlands as well as the Granite
Belt. Early fog about the central coast before the change. Little change in the
tropics.
By Sunday, the next continental high will move over northern N.S.W and drop
out the winds over southern QLD. This will create extensive early frost over the
SE and southern interior of QLD. The coastal trough will move up the coast into
the tropics with isolated showers.
By Monday a weak ridge of higher pressure remains over SE QLD with extensive
early frost over the SE and southern interior. Patchy light rain may extend
across southern districts during the day from the west associated with an upper
level trough. Little change elsewhere.
