Australia -- New South Wales Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Aug 3/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. Warning Summary at issue time: Nil. For the latest warning information please check the Bureau's web site www.bom.gov.au/weather/nsw Current Weather Situation and Future Developments: A slow-moving high pressure system centred over western NSW extends a ridge to the northern Tasman Sea. A series of cold fronts will pass to the south during the next few days, but their impact in New South Wales will be limited to some shower activity about parts of the southern inland. The stabilising influence of the ridge will promote fine weather elsewhere in the state, with cold nights in many districts. Forecast for Tuesday Isolated showers over the southern inland, chiefly on the western slopes of the ranges. Remaining fine elsewhere. Northeast to northwest winds, turning southwesterly inland. Forecast for Wednesday Fine apart from isolated showers about the western slopes of the southern ranges. Early frost inland, chiefly about the ranges. Generally light winds. Forecast for Thursday Fine apart from isolated showers about the western slopes of the Snowy Mountains. Early frost inland, chiefly about the ranges. Northeast to northwest winds, freshening in the south. Forecast for Friday Isolated showers developing over the southern half, particularly on the southwest slopes of the ranges.
