Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 1/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time:
Strong Wind Warning for coastal waters south of Green Cape.
For the latest warning information please check the Bureau's web site
www.bom.gov.au/weather/nsw
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A slow-moving high pressure system centred over the Bight extends a ridge across
New South Wales to the northern Tasman Sea. A series of cold fronts will pass to
the south during the next few days, but their impact in New South Wales will be
limited to some shower activity about parts of the southern inland. The
stabilising influence of the ridge will promote fine weather elsewhere in the
state, with cold nights in many districts.
Forecast for Sunday
Isolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges, and snow showers
on the Alpine peaks. Early fogs and frosts inland. Fine elsewhere. Westerly
winds, with local seabreezes developing on the northern coast.
Forecast for Monday
Isolated showers on the western slopes of the far southern ranges, snow showers
on the Alps. Early fogs and frosts inland. Fine elsewhere. West to northwest
winds tending south to southwest.
Forecast for Tuesday
Fine apart from isolated showers on the Alps. Early fogs and frosts inland. Fine
elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.
Forecast for Wednesday
Fine apart from early frosts on the ranges. Northwest to northeast winds.
