Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 31/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A strong, slow-moving high pressure system west of the Bight extends a ridge
across New South Wales to the northern Tasman Sea. A series of cold fronts will
move through the Bass Strait over the next few days bringing isolated showers to
western slopes of the southern ranges. It will be fine over the remainder of the
state with cold nights.
Forecast for Saturday
Isolated showers on the western slopes of the far southern ranges, snow showers
on the Alps. Early fogs and frosts inland. Fine elsewhere. West to southwest
winds.
Forecast for Sunday
Isolated showers on the western slopes of the far southern ranges, snow showers
on the Alps. Early fogs and frosts inland. Fine elsewhere. Westerly winds.
Forecast for Monday
Isolated showers on the western slopes of the far southern ranges, snow showers
on the Alps. Early fogs and frosts inland. Fine elsewhere. West to northwest
winds tending south to southwest.
Forecast for Tuesday
Fine apart from isolated showers on the Alps. Early fogs and frosts inland. Fine
elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.
