Edible Beans Maintain Firm ToneVANCOUVER - Jul 12/09 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets maintained their firm tone during the past week as the number of prospective buyers remain just ahead of the number of willing sellers. The U.S. grower index finished the week up 17 points at 1054, versus 1208 at this time last year. The grower share of the weighted average dealer price for beans now stands at 81%, up 0.5 points from last week and compared to 77.9% at this time last year. The U.S. spot market index for dry edible bean finished the week at 1165, up 13 points from the previous week and compared to 1391 at this time last year.
