Australia -- Queensland Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 10/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

WARNING SUMMARY
Strong wind warning has been cancelled coastal waters from Sandy Cape to Point
Danger.
STATE FORECAST
for Saturday
Isolated showers about the NE tropical coast and the SE coast. Dry over the
interior with early frost over the southern and SE interior. Moderate SE winds
about the east coast, easing winds about the SE coast and light to moderate NE
winds over the interior.
EXTENDED OUTLOOK
By Sunday, the intense depression over the Coral Sea will move further east
allowing for a high pressure centre to form over eastern QLD. Winds will rapidly
drop out about the central and SE coast with some isolated early fog. Widespread
early frost over the southern and SE interior. Becoming very warm in the west
during the day with NW winds ahead of a dry SW'ly change. Little change in the
tropics.
By Monday the surface trough in the west will reach the southern Gulf and the
western Darling Downs later in the day with patchy rain to follow over southern
districts. Reduced early frost over the SE interior and early fog about the
central coast and the SE coast. Very warm over eastern districts in the
afternoon with NW winds.
By Tuesday, the SW'ly wind change will pass through the SE coast at first then
the central coast later in the day. Patchy rain will follow across the Darling
Downs and the east coast south of Rockhampton later in the day. Cold, moist W/SW
winds following the change will generate some drizzle or showers across southern
border districts during the day. Again  early fog about the central coast and
showers continuing in the NE tropics.
By Wednesday, chilly over the SE winds strong SW winds but dry. Early drizzle
about SW parts of the Darling Downs and chilly over most of the interior with
S'ly winds. Some early frost in the Granite Belt and the southern Central
Highlands. Dry about the east coast and isolated showers in the northern
