Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 13/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Pattern
A high pressure system south of the Bight will move slowly eastwards, passing
south of Victoria during the weekend then strengthening over the Tasman Sea on
Monday.    
Victoria
Friday:    Fine apart from isolated light showers and drizzle patches south of
the ranges, mainly during the morning. A mild to warm and mostly sunny day in
the north but cool to mild and partly cloudy in the south. Light to moderate
southwest to southerly wind, locally fresh over the coast.  
Fire Danger: High to very high in the north. Moderate to high in the south.
UV Index: 9 [very high] reduced to 4 [moderate] under cloud  
Saturday:  Local early drizzle in the south. Isolated afternoon and evening
thunderstorms over the eastern ranges. Mild to warm.
Sunday:    Fine apart from early fogs in the south. Generally warm. 
Monday:    Early fogs in Gippsland otherwise fine. Warm to hot.
Forecast for Melbourne
Friday
Fine apart from a little local drizzle this morning. A partly cloudy day with
light to moderate southerly wind becoming fresh at times in the afternoon and
evening.

Forecast for Port Phillip and Western Port
Friday:    Southwest to southerly wind of 10 to 15 knots reaching 20 knots
during the afternoon and evening. Waves to half a metre in the morning, then
increasing to 1 metre.  
Saturday:  Southeast to southerly wind of 10 to 15 knots. Afternoon seabreezes
to around 15 knots.
Sunday:    East to southeast wind to 10 knots. Afternoon seabreezes to around 15
knots. 
Monday:    North to northeasterly wind of 10 to 15 knots. Afternoon seabreezes
to 10 knots.
Headline Melbourne: Local drizzle clearing.
