Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 4/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time:
Gale Warning for NSW Coastal waters south of Montague Island. Strong
Wind Warning between Smoky Cape and Montague Island.

Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A low pressure system is over the southern Tasman Sea while a high
pressure system near the Bight extends a ridge towards northeastern
New South Wales. The combination of these two systems is bringing
isolated showers to the western slopes of the southern ranges. As the
low moves east and the ridge strengthens showers will contract to the
far southern ranges and clear early Saturday. A strong high pressure
ridge will persist across the state until the middle of next week
bringing mostly fine weather and cold, frosty nights.
Forecast for Saturday evening
Isolated showers on the western slopes of the ranges. Cloudy periods
over the southern inland with the chance of showers. Snow on the
Alps. Fine remainder. Fresh southwest winds, strong along the coast
in the south.
Forecast for Sunday
Early frost on the ranges. Fine day apart from the chance of early
showers on the Alps and the far south coast.  Southwest winds, fresh
on the south coast.
Forecast for Monday
Widespread morning frost inland. Fine apart from isolated showers on
the far south coast. West to southwest winds.
Forecast for Tuesday
Widespread morning frost inland. Fine day. Light winds.
Forecast for Wednesday
Widespread morning frost inland. Fine day. Easterly winds.
