Peas Little Changed in Light TradeVANCOUVER - Jul 3/09 - SNS -- North American field pea markets were little changed in a holiday shortened trading week. Markets remain nervous about the status of field pea crops in Alberta because the province has suffered more from drought than Saskatchewan. The past week also saw a significant increase in reports of grasshoppers in that province, raising fears that crops will be easily damaged than in the past because they are later and shorter than normal.
