Weekly Canadian Crush EasesWINNIPEG - Jul 3/09 -- STAT -- The Canadian Oilseed Processors Association (COPA) reports weekly crush in that country totalled 74,287 metric tons (MT) of canola and 15,436 of soybeans during the week ending July 1. The numbers, as reported to the association by member firms, show canola crush dropped 6.4%, for a second week over week decline. Soybean crush jumped 23.4%, after falling the previous week. Crush so far during the 2008-09 marketing year totals 3,700,644 MT of canola, up about 26,000 MT from the 3,674,268 MT crushed by the same time last season. Soybeans crush so far totals 1,189,123 MT, down about 120,000 MT from the 1,309,192 MT crushed during the same period last season. Crush capacity utilization for the week was 71.4% for canola and 91.4% so far this season. Soybean crush capacity utilization was 34,5% for the week and 59.2% so far this season.
