Gale warning for Victorian waters between Cape Schanck and 60nm east of Gabo Island. Strong wind warning for Victorian waters between SA-VIC Border and Cape Schanck. Strong wind warning is current for Port Phillip. Strong wind warning is current for Western Port. Strong wind warning is current for Gippsland Lakes. Weather Situation A low pressure system is located over the Tasman Sea and a high pressure system is over the Bight. Little change is expected in the pattern during the weekend. A cold front will affect southern Victoria late Monday and early Tuesday, then the high will move over Victoria Tuesday night. Forecast for the rest of Friday Scattered showers mainly on and south of the ranges falling as snow above 1000m. Local hail and thunder in the southeast, clearing. South to southwest winds easing inland. Forecast for Saturday Scattered showers on the ranges and in the south with only isolated showers developing over the northern plains. Snow falls on the ranges above 1500m. Cold with fresh south to southwest winds. Forecast for Sunday Isolated showers on and south of the ranges falling as snow over the southern Alps. Fine and partly cloudy in the north. Moderate to fresh south to southwest winds. Forecast for Monday Widespread morning frost in the north and west.
