AMARILLO - Jul 2/09 - SNS -- Market conditions for cattle, hogs and

lambs in the major markets in the U.S. midwest are summarized in the latest daily report from the USDA.


Daily Livestock Summary

                               CATTLE
Direct Trade:
   In the direct slaughter cattle trade in the Five Major Marketing Areas,
Texas/Oklahoma; Kansas; Nebraska; Colorado; Iowa/Minnesota; in Kansas fed cattle
trading was moderate with moderate demand trading 1.00 higher at 83.00.  Texas
Panhandle, Northern Plains and Western Cornbelt not enough sales to establish
and adequate market trend.  Steers: Live basis; (all Grades: 10,710 head) 80.00-
83.00, weighted average price 82.74.  Dressed basis; (all Grades: 6,807 head)
128.00-132.00, weighted average price 131.22.  Heifers: live basis; (all Grades:
6,386 head) 81.00-83.00, weighted average price 82.91.  Dressed Basis; (all
Grades: 4,442 head) 129.00-131.00, weighted average price 130.35.
