Weekly Canadian Crush JumpsWINNIPEG - Jun 19/09 -- STAT -- The Canadian Oilseed Processors Association (COPA) reports weekly crush in that country totalled 83,499 metric tons (MT) of canola and 19,293 of soybeans during the week ending June 17. The numbers, as reported to the association by member firms, show canola crush jumped 15.4%, for a second week over week increase. Soybean crush sank 31.7%, after rising the previous week. Crush so far during the 2008-09 marketing year totals 3,547,029 MT of canola, up about 36,000 MT from the 3,521,379 MT crushed by the same time last season. Soybeans crush so far totals 1,161,178 MT, down about 95,000 MT from the 1,256,836 MT crushed during the same period last season. Crush capacity utilization for the week was 80.3% for canola and 92% so far this season. Soybean crush capacity utilization was 43.1% for the week and 60.3% so far this season.
