USDA Buys 11,838 MT beans
WASHINGTON - Jun 18/09 - SNS -- The USDA confirmed the purchase of 11,838 metric tons (MT) of great northern beans for distribution to the Child Nutrition and other related domestic food assistance programs for Fiscal Year 2009.
The USDA paid $12,214,650.00 to buy 111,266 MT packed in cases contained 12 two pound bags of beans each; and $549,392 for 562 MT packed in 25 pound bags. The prices paid are on a delivered to destination basis.
